I own a 7610 and watch the 7610 reflector which is where I heard about this book. It was getting great reviews there so I took the leap and bought it. When I opened it, I didn't expect it to read or be structured like it is. It tells you what you'd want to know about setting the radio up - what buttons to push - in a simple, step-by-step way. There are nice explanations along the way but it becomes a GUIDE of how to set it up. Its straight forward, simple, and clarifies how to get to all of the end point destinations. I can imagine using this book a lot to quickly explore the many 7610 capabilities without stumbling through menus, manuals, emails, on-line searches, etc. Its a sole source reference. Sweet! It has been my pleasure to own an IC-7610 for 13 months. In 61 plus years of being a ham, it’s best transceiver I have owned.Now, Andrew Barron has written a wonderful book to help me get more out of it than I ever imagined. In a well organized, hands on, how to fashion, he presents a great go-to reference guide covering all aspects of setting up, operating and trouble shooting the IC-7610 written in everyday, user friendly language.
